Are Kraft, Tyson and Clairol Scamming You?
Everybody wants to be popular - now, more than ever these days.
And in today’s marketing and business terms, that means being GREEN. Choose your definition of choice here: all natural, eco-friendly, environmentally conscious, organic, no gmo…there’s lots of different ways to say what many think are the same thing.
But labels are deceptive. “Fresh” does not always mean what most people assume it means, when it is on a label, for example, and don’t get me started on the variations of the word “organic” on food labels today.
But, there are companies now who have spent MILLIONS (hundreds of millions) trying to convince you and the American public that they are different. That they are greener. That their products have improved, because there’s new wording on their labels. And a lot of time and money went into the precise design of that new packaging and label - so you’d think there MUST be an improvement, right?
Maybe. Maybe not.
Fortunately, when big companies make a lot of noise, there are many watch dogs out there watching, taking notes and keeping tabs on all their activity.
Green Washing Website Names Names:
Kraft, Clairol, Tyson, GM, The List Goes On
This, “painting a greener picture than is realistically the case” even has it’s own word now. Unfortunately, it needs a word to define it, as the practice is becoming so rampant. But, I gotta warn you, that the site I’m going to send you to is a little on the “fringe“.
Meaning that their website may discuss some topics passionately and perhaps come off a bit paranoid or over the top. But I’m sending you there to read what I have read, and that is an article endorsed by big, reputable people in my book. Here, you’ll find corporate companies that are breaking the rules, and deliberately not telling you the truth, in other words, knowingly tricking you to buy their product, despite giving you a better, or greener product, for your money. These are not companies I buy much from, but perhaps you do. At the very least you should be in the loop and more aware when you make your purchases.
