Remember, awhile back and shared with you the you deserve a cookie video, about how to sign up and get your free Kashi cookie in the mail, delivered straight to your house?

Well, I was surprised at how fast mine came. In fact, I’m “tardy” with this update, as I probably got it, ate it and filed this post in the Things To Do file weeks ago…

But, I gotta tell you, I don’t know if I would buy these, good for you (better for you) or not.

Mine was a dark chocolate chip oatmeal, and it did have some chewiness to it, which in my opinion is good, since Kashi is known for the fiber they have in their products, so I was expecting it to taste like cardboard. But, it WAS better than expected. And if their were a plate of them in front of me, I WOULD eat them, one after the other.

Which might be problem number one. As it left me feeling “empty”, and “wanting more”, only because I had to ask, “didn’t I just eat a cookie?”

Then, you gotta think price. Worth it for the feeling of wondering if you just ate what you ate - with a major brand, and millions of dollars spent on national advertising, the PRICE is not going to be to my liking for what you get, experience states.

My research shows, that you can save some cash (about $10 bucks or so) buying 3 boxes (dark chocolate oatmeal - like what I got) at a time on Amazon, but still think that’s a bit high, frankly. Here’s the nutritional info per box of cookies straight from Kashi. But, once you look at that, know you are paying for it, I’m wondering personally, if it wouldn’t be smarter, cheaper and BETTER for YOU to make your own cookie, in complete control of the ingredients.

Like, what I call a “breakfast cookie”. And you can keep it moist and chewy (that’s what I prefer) with natural ingredients, like zucchini or apple sauce, for example. Add nuts, or protein powder for protein, and berries and fruits for antioxidants, make ‘em in bulk and you can make a nutritionally packed breakfast cookie for about a quarter (25 cents) or less, and feel FILLED when you eat them.

I haven’t done a batch of these for awhile, perhaps I’ll vido record it when I do, if there’s reasonable interest. Now, I suggested and shared this kashi free cookie resource with you, so I’m guessing at least the people here in the United States took me up on the offer - share your comments below and let me know what you thought of the taste. I’ll update this post later today, with better pricing (read that, I’m looking for some BARGAINS for you) options…
