Juicer Vitamix Comparison Debate Update
O.k., this recording, I just uploaded the newest version, and this is the one I’ll make more public: telling YOU about… I wanted to make sure the recorded audio was “just” right before sending you to it. If you want more details about this little adventure, read the last couple posts below (or before) this one, to get more inside skinny.
Buying a juicer vs a vita-mix [<< LINK]
Of course, if you follow me on Twitter or Facebook (you have to be registered, but it’s free – and also note is equally as ADDICTING as juicing), you’ve caught glimpses into my technical fumblings. I thought it would “get by”, but feedback said otherwise.
I packed a lot of information into that 24 minute recording – note to self, does anybody ask easy, one word answer questions anymore? – - Geez.
I’m also going to make a link available for a movie just about navigating this site, the blog, and tracking, me, Joe Boone. I’ve learned that’s not easy for everybody subscribed, and it will save me some time on emails, too. I’ll post that here, in a little while.
The vitamix question came in from juicing tips subscriber, Melissa, but if you have a vitamix or feeling about them, chime in and speak up. Just type your comment below…
More to work on, will talk again soon.

Hey Joe,
Not only is it totally powerful and versatile but it is about half the price of the Vitamix every where outside the US.
Love your Juicing Tips and was interested to hear you referring to a blender in your recent recording. I almost made the mistake of buying another Vita Mix after my first one died but then a mate of mine put me onto The Power Mill Blender I have never been so impressed with a kitchen appliance
It is not a juicer but it feels good to know I’m getting all the fibre from my food as well as the other nutrients we get out of our juicers. I love smoothies and am happy to be able to throw fruit in whole and know I’m getting everything I’ve paied for out of it.

Hi Joe,
I totally agree with your recording about the fiber versus no fiber. I have both a Vita-Mix and a juicer. I love them both. I purchased the juicer after I got the Vita-Mix because I had major health problems to overcome. The thing I would add about the juicing is the fact that you brought up that you don’t get as full so that will allow you to flood your system with more whole food nutrition. When I first started I drank fresh juices 3-5x a day to completely saturate my body with as much nutrition as I could to give my body the building blocks to repair and heal from the illnesses I had and at the same time allow my digestive system to have a break and use that energy to heal elsewhere. I still use the Vita-Mix to make awesome frozen smoothies and hot, raw soups. I like being able to add superfoods like hemp, goji berries, chia seeds, spirulina, flax or other things to my smoothies to super boost their nutrition. I have a lemon tree and for months I make my famous strawberry lemonade smoothies (I always slip in some spinach or some other mild tasting veggie to up the nutrition without any protest from my smoothie drinkers).
So like you, I see the advantage to using both. It just depends on the purpose that you are incorporating more whole food into your diet. I have read on many occasions that the speed of the Vita-Mix destroys some of the enzymes. Anyone that has health problems may want to take that into consideration and lean towards juicing. I am a serious juicer with a high end juicer. It was over $350 for my juicer because most of the less expensive ones don’t extract as well or they also cause some deterioration of the juice. I needed to get the most bang for my buck. I am convinced my juicer will last many years just as the Vita-Mix will. My dad’s Vita-Mix is well over 15 years old.
